When this happens have you moved the card to a 1) different reader, 2) different cable, 3) different computer? If so does it always fail (ie indicating the card or the way files were written by the camera).

Repeat a few times with different folders to avoid using a computer cache instead of the actual file data. Perhaps copy a folder of files from computer to card and then back to a different computer folder. I forget what utilities were available in the Mac world but there's sure to be something that can do write and read testing.įormat them outside the cameras, and then again in the cameras. See if you can test the cards with your computer software. Use backup cards too in the cameras if they will take two cards at once, and have the cameras write photos to both cards. That may require some extra discipline on your part to keep track of things.Īlso verify that the cards and camera sockets are clean, and that the cards are rated for the cameras. Sadly, that doesn't mean I can help, but I sure do sympathize.īe sure to establish that the multiple cards and devices are not in fact a common device affecting multiple cards and then being seen in multiple computers, or other variations. Welcome to my world - the world of intermittent significant problems Now I can open this files with photoshop as I did before Lightroom was not responding as well so I decided to completely clean my computer. I did have yesterday on my MacBook Pro some problems with opening Sony ARW files

Looks like this, DSC000982.ARW is there, but also DSC000982.1 ARW both are present. When the files get recovered there are also duplicate file names. I can recover all the files using Disk Drill. with multiple cards in two different cameras, readers and computers.

I will take a few pics and put the card in my computer and it says it's not readable by this computer. Having a strange issue that comes from time to time.Įvery once in a while my memory card becomes unreadable.
